I found last week’s orientation to be a fantastic learning experience. It’s definitely different to have come back into the office today, because I feel like I have a much greater knowledge base regarding the insurance industry than I did before orientation in Itasca. I enjoyed meeting interns from all over the country, and getting to know them. I’m excited to stay in contact with everyone that I met, as well as utilizing the information from last week throughout the course of the next six weeks! – Melanie in San Francisco
I am Kevin from the Fresno, CA branch. this past week was a lot of fun yet very informative. I am a finance major so had zero knowledge about insurance before starting on June 8th. I learned a lot of the acronyms and basic insurance in the educational readings, but the orientation helped me understand things much more. I look forward to putting what I learned to use for the next 6 weeks.

During week 3, all of the year one interns were in Itasca for orientation. I was very nervous going into this experience; however, I really enjoyed myself everyday. I think it was great that we got to meet so many people on this trip, including many employees of the Itasca corporate office. One of the best things about this trip was the fact that we got to meet numerous other interns. It is great to be able to put a face to a name for a lot of the interns and I hope to stay in contact with as many of them as possible. The week in Itasca was an amazing learning experience! -Lindsay in Orange County
I’m a student at Pitzer College in Southern California, and I’m just finishing up my second week in the San Francisco branch, and so far it’s been great! I’ve been doing the various trainings, and I’ve had the chance to go on a number of client calls, and sit in on different meetings, all of which have been great learning experiences. I’m very excited to be going to Itasca next week, everyone here has been telling me that I’ll have a great time, so I’m very much looking forward to it. – Melanie in San Francisco
Starting my second week at the Bellevue, WA office and I can say with complete honesty that I am happy to be here again. The first week went really well. Stayed very busy with the online educational materials and helping the admin department put together some renewal packets for a client as well as some COBRA packets. I am very excited to start working with our sales team this week. I eventually see myself working there so I hope that I can impress some people. One week until I get to go home to Chicago so that should be fun.

I am a student at the University of Nevada at Reno and I am working at the GBS Branch in Sacramento. Yesterday was my second day at work and so far it has been a great experience. Everyone has been extremely helpful in acclimating me to how things work in the office. There haven’t been any real surprises so far. Yesterday I pulled in my first lead so that was exciting. I am kind of disappointed that there aren’t any water cooler talks, but that is because our office is high tech and use yahoo messenger. Everyone here rocks.
